Invariant Corporation is seeking a talented and motivated Sr. Electrical Engineer with at least 10 years of experience to work in a hands-on laboratory environment on a variety of technical projects related to microelectronics system design and analysis.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
A variety of electronic design, build, and testing tasks under the guidance of senior engineers in a dynamic environment
Programming and interfacing with FPGA development boards
Setup and operation of auto/semi-automated data collection systems for device-under-test fixtures
Modifying data analysis scripts in Matlab ‘m-code’
Performing other duties as assigned or required

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 10 years’ professional experience or equivalent.
Basic Electrical Engineering knowledge
Understanding of microelectronic components and systems and integrated circuit fundamentals
Proficiency in the use of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, and other common laboratory electrical characterization and test equipment
Experience with FPGA development tools using VHDL (preferred) or Verilog
Experience with Matlab, for the purpose of data collection, analysis, and visualization
Experience working with real hardware and systems in a laboratory environment
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Some experience with C/C++ and/or Python
Good communication skills, including presentation development and report writing
Experience with printed circuit board design tools such as Altium (or similar) is a definite plus

REQUIRES ABILITY TO:
Currently have a Secret or Top-Secret Clearance with PR
Ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance if currently at Secret
Work well in a small, fast-paced, and mission-driven environment with co-workers, management, and customers
Demonstrate innovation, quick learning, excellent communication skills and adaptive thinking
Work independently with minimal supervision and to exercise good judgment is essential
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office, lab, field, and machine shop environments
Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing (100%)
Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and client (100%)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for extended periods of time at desk, in telecoms/meetings with peers, management (90%)
Ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at customer worksites and Invariant facilities during travel (10%)
EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES:
Requires ability to operate a personal computer, telephone, printer, copier, and other general office equipment (100%)
ATTENDANCE:
Normal workday is from 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday
Support will be provided as needed during this time frame, but small efforts may be required at any time to support operations
OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for positions requiring a Security Clearance
