Invariant Corporation is seeking a full-time, talented, and motivated mid-to-senior-level hardware engineer who is experienced in RTL design for ASICs and FPGAs. The ideal candidate will also be knowledgeable in ASIC fabrication, packaging, and testing processes. This position will work in a hands-on laboratory environment on a variety of technical projects related to microelectronics system design and analysis.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
Contribute to FPGA/ASIC design projects, many of which will involve hardware security
Assess and convey standards for FPGA/ASIC design, fabrication, and testing
Evaluate processes to determine if requirements have been met
Provide support at customer facilities and collaborate with system security engineering team members
Review standards and convey requirements

Interface with broad range of audiences and conduct technical meetings

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and five (5) years of relevant experience. Additional education may substitute for the experience requirement on a case-by-case basis.
Three (3) or more years of educational and/or work experience in ASIC design
Five (5) or more years of work experience as a Hardware Engineer
Experience with register-transfer level (RTL) design and verification
Experience with hardware circuits, specifically Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA)
Knowledgeable in microelectronics system design and analysis processes
Strong documentation skills
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Knowledgeable in ASIC fabrication, packaging, and testing processes
Experience with implementing ASIC and/or FPGA security requirements
Knowledgeable in FPGA design
Project management experience
REQUIRES ABILITY TO:
Obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance or Secret Clearance with PR within 6 years
Travel, up to 10%, may be required depending on project requirements
Work well in a small, fast-paced, and mission-driven environment with co-workers, management, and clients
Demonstrate innovation, quick learning, excellent communication skills, and adaptive thinking
Work independently with minimal supervision
Make rational decisions and exercise good judgment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office, Lab, and field environment
Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing
Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and clients
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for extended periods of time at desk, in telecoms/meetings with peers, management (90%)
Ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at customer worksites and Invariant facilities (10%)
