Invariant Corporation is seeking a talented and motivated mid-to-senior-level engineer with experience developing RTL code for FPGAs. The candidate will work in a hands-on laboratory environment on a variety of technical projects related to FPGA assurance design, analysis, and verification. This position is ideal for an engineer who has both FPGA and software development experience using languages such as Python or C++ and seeks work that is challenging and different.


  • Developing software code to ensure FPGAs perform as intended

  • Creating scripts/code to perform in-depth analysis of low-level configuration files for FPGAs

  • Designing and re-factoring code that is maintainable, scalable, testable, and well documented

  • Collaborating effectively with team members in related disciplines to solve problems and identify project goals and milestones

Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of relevant experience. Additional education may substitute for the experience requirement on a case-by-case basis.

  • Five (5) or more years of professional experience in software development

  • Must be knowledgeable in at least one of the two areas:

  • Object-oriented design using C++

  • Python, TCL, or related scripting languages

  • An ability to multitask and work effectively at a customer site

  • Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills


  • Object-oriented design using C++

  • Python, TCL, or related scripting experience

  • Experience with commercial FPGA development tools

  • HDL design experience using VHDL or Verilog

  • Reverse engineering experience

  • Experience developing register-transfer level (RTL) code for FPGA design


  • Obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance or Secret Clearance with PR within 6 years

  • Up to 10% travel may be required depending on project requirements

  • Work well in a small, fast-paced, and mission-driven environment with co-workers, management, and clients

  • Demonstrate innovation, quick learning, excellent communication skills, and adaptive thinking

  • Work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Make rational decisions and exercise good judgment


  • Office, Lab, and field environment

  • Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate and timely communication, both verbally and in writing

  • Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, and clients


  • Sitting for extended periods of time at desk, in telecoms/meetings with peers, management (90%)

  • Ability to use stairs or elevators for access between floors and multiple buildings at customer worksites and Invariant facilities (10%)
